The Great Communicator

When 2009 started, Ben's favorite word was "Mine". His speech has improved greatly and now he can say things like "Brudder did it." Here are a few more favorite phrases
"Hold it" - This is Ben's response when I try to take his blankie away. He knows we don't like when he puts in his mouth, so he claims he will just hold it.
"No hab it" - Ben's repsonse when he doesn't have a match in Disney bingo.
"Dada bizzy!" - He says this when he wants to sit in mommy's lap.
The last couple are self explanatory: "I do it", "Myself", and "I have boggers."

Bradley is up to three syllable words such as "BEN-GER-MAN".

Snowplow Restaurant

On Christmas Eve, we went to check out another airplane restaurant. Pilot Pete's at the Schaumburg airport is much bigger and better decorated than Charlie's in Bolingbrook. Since there were lots of clouds and a rain/snow mix, no planes we flying that day. However, the kids were amused by watching the snowplows on the tarmac. We also saw a few trains go by.

Everyone's A Winner

Ben wrapped up his fall sport class. He was a little shy and a lot of slow during the term, but still got a medal. I think his new nickname is "The Glacier". Ben's favorite sport was hockey. It is, by far, the sport that he is best at, but that is not saying too much. We are going to try gymnastics in the new year.

Flying Colors

Bradley finished swim class this week and aced every criteria. I was rally impressed that he can kick all the way across the pool while using a marshmallow stick. His next class will be in the big pool.

Zero Dollars of Fun

This probably the last of the "dollars of fun" series for the year, but it is one of the best. The golf course had it's holiday open house. This means free food and drink - chicken nuggets, meat balls, mini corn dogs, cheese, crackers, cookies, and beer. But wait there's more--Santa stopped by in his golf cart.

Earning Your Keep

Bradley loves a good fire at Grandpa's house. It doesn't matter if it is inside or outside. He is even willing to help haul wood for the fireplace. Ben is not as helpful. His main responsibility is looking cute. After all that hard work, the boys got to roast hot dogs and marshmallows on the new outdoor fire pit. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Take Your Time

Ben has recently started a sport class with Coach Kyle. The first week was soccer. The next week the weather was nice enough to play T-ball outside (in Chicago in mid-November!) It was the first time I have ever seen someone mosey the bases.

Working It

On Thurday night the boys road the rails downtown to visit mommy at work. Bradley thought it was cool since he could write on the wall at mommy's new office. It was also awesome that there was a McDonald's at the train station.

Nakie Night Night

When putting on jammies, Ben likes to do some streaking while saying, "Nakie Nakie". One night he dove into bed and said "Nakie Night Night".

Cleaning Leg Store

The "cleaning leg store" was open for business on Sunday night.
