Happy Halloween

The big day has finally arrived! Bradley was much more into Halloween this year than last year. He really enjoyed the Halloween party at school. He spent a long time this evening inspecting the loot from school (see below). But, that wasn't enough. So we went out for some official trick or treating (see above). We only hit 4 houses, but that was enough. Brad tried a Skittle, but didn't like. He does like Kit Kats.

A K-Fed Type of Day

As I was rocking Ben to sleep on Saturday my mind was drifting. I started to think about Bradley's diet for the day. It wasn't good: pancakes, waffles, a cheese burger, 4 chicken nuggets, and we ended the day with a meatball for dinner and a half Krispy Kreme donut for dessert. That doesn't sound good, I know. It's like a page out of the Brittney Spear's Parenting Guide. But then I remembered that we did manage to hit all the food groups. The fruit group was covered by a Gummi bear that Brad had earlier in the day. Plus, he had plenty of vegetables - french fries for lunch and some vegetable Ritz with dinner. That takes us up a notch in the parenting hierarchy.

Baseball?

Bradley has invented another new game. You may recall his first invention - the Ball in Box Game. This one may look a lot like baseball, but it is called Crack Some Skulls game. Who needs a guard dog when you have Bradley protecting the castle?

The Waterboy

Bradley is more than half-way through his second set of swim lessons. The video below shows he is much improved in the areas of blowing bubbles and kicking. The newest skill is the blast off. He is better at doing it forwards rather than backwards. He is still not too comfortable with the back float.

Mr. Mess

Rather than putting all his toys in the dining room, Bradley decided to pile them on the fireplace. This time he did it without the aid of his work gloves and work hat.

Pumpkins

Rather than carving pumpkins, we bought these Mr. Potato Head pieces that you stick into the pumpkins. It is a pretty neat idea. The clown pumpkin is Bradley's and the pirate one is Ben's. Each kit has a few more pieces than shown. The pumpkins we picked are rather small.

Ah, the Imagination

I don't know where Bradley gets some of his ideas. Tonight, we had him try on some new winter gloves and a wool hat. He decided this were his work gloves (and work hat?). He then proceeded to carry, not drag, every large toy from the family room to the dining room. I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. The family room has never been cleaner, but he dining room has never looked worse.

He has also recently taking to "fixing" closet door hinges with the drum stick from his music set.

Busy Weekend

On Saturday, Bradley did some early trick or treating with the park district. There was some crafts, story telling, and a hay ride, which I think was Bradley's favorite part.

Then on Sunday, we headed to the County Line Orchard in Indiana. As with last year, Bradley liked the petting zoo. He also learned to like kettle corn and cider doughnuts. It was a pretty exhausting weekend. Brad was asleep by 7:30 Sunday night.

#1 Son

We've made a very small advance in potty training. Whoops, I meant to say "potty teaching". Anyhow, Bradley peed in the potty for the first time this weekend. It was neither intentional nor accurate.

By the way, we seem to be in the midst of a crime wave. You all know about the tent. Today's transgression: writing on the wall.

Neighboorhood Watch

Bradley has started patrolling the neighborhood on his bike a couple nights a week. This can take a while since we have to stop at almost ever house and discuss whether or not a doggie lives there. If it is concluded that a dog is in residence, we have a further discussion concerning the evening schedule of said canine. Has he eaten dinner? Will he be going for a walk? When will he be going night night? I wonder if Bradley is trying to reduce the sentence from his recent crime by performing community service.
