525,600 Minutes

That's how long ago we started potty training. Yikes! The process really improved when we started bribing Bradley with chocolate. We are already to the point where he forgets to redeem his reward most of the time. That's fine, because even a little Hershey's Kiss gives him quite the sugar rush. Bradley rarely volunteers to sit on the potty, but will usually comply when asked. For some reason he prefers to poop in the diaper, so there is still work to be done.

11 Months

As usual, we has our monthly trip to Heaven on Seven. As with last month, we arrived a little later to lunch. The worst table was taken, so we got a decent one. We gave Ben some rice and blueberry muffin, but he didn't like either. However, Ben are some blueberry buckle for dinner. After lunch, we attempted a donut run, but the Krispy Kreme was out of business. Ben never got to see the icing waterfall. We are very blessed that there is another Krispy Kreme near there house, so Ben will get his chance someday.

Ben finally started crawling the right way about a week ago. He does real good with standing and walking along the couch. Ben's starting to get separation anxiety. If he can't see anyone, he starts crying. Ben still doesn't like to take a bath.

Nice Weather

Since the weather was so nice on Thursday, we stopped at a park after dinner. This was Ben's first time on a slide. He didn't like it too much. We will have to try again later.

It's All Downhill From Here

Purdue's spring football game was on Saturday. This was Bradley's first football game. We had been invited to watch the game from a luxury suite. The boy is in for a letdown when he goes to his second football game. This was also his first trip to Purdue and we had a little bit of time to tour the campus.

Baby's First Earthquake!!!

I woke up shortly before the earthquake and was lying in bed. I could feel the bed shaking slightly and the drawer handles were rattling. I thought the wind might be to blame, but I didn't hear any gusts. I think Ben felt it too. He started crying a few minutes later, but wasn't hungry. Bradley woke up early too, but I don't think it was from the earthquake. Some mornings I shake him a lot to try to wake him up and he doesn't respond.

At Least He Doesn't Shed

Ben started eating real meat today. We gave him a few shreds of chicken nuggets and he just loved it. Add that to his list of recently acquired skills:
Eating table scraps
Peeing on the carpet
Playing in the toilet

That's not a particularly good looking resume, but he's got time to polish it.

Touch A Truck

Spring finally arrived today and the timing couldn't be better. The annual Touch A Truck was on the hit list. Bradley saw a firetruck and a police car and an ambulance and a dump truck and some other working trucks. They also had a couple RV's that we checked out. Ben went too, but he stayed in the stroller.

Later in the day, Bradley went out for his first bike ride of the year.

Back on Track

As usual, we went out to celebrate Ben's birthday. It was a big surprise when we got a decent table. We arrived a little later than usual and someone was already sitting in the traditional worst table.
The biggest development for Ben this month is that he can now stand up on his own. He still does the army crawl. Ben's second tooth showed up early in the month. His diet has expanded to include real peaches, yogurt, and pancakes. Today, he ate a little bit of blueberry muffin. He also tried pasta, but wasn't interested.

The Inhaler

Ben hadn't been eating too well at dinner this week, but boy did that change tonight. He ate a whole jar of green beans and some diced peaches and some yogurt. Ben also started scarfing down a pancake! These were home-made pancakes, so I guess this was technically Ben's first home cooked meal.
