Not Twins

We have known for a while that Ben likes ice cream. Recently, Bradley explained why he doesn't like ice cream. It's too cold. Colder than ice, he says. Another difference between the boys is that Ben likes chocolate milk. The restaurant only had chocolate milk. Bradley refused to drink it. Ben drank it all with no comment.

Show Me the Money

We took the new hiking GPS out for a spin on Saturday. I think this was Bradley's third geocache. When we found the cache, it didn't take Bradley long to decide which trinket he wanted. He picked a foreign coin.

Bed Not for Sale

Ben finally started sleeping in his bed. I think the new sheets and pillow helped.

The Heli-train

I think Bradley's favorite part of our Labor Day trip was visiting the Duquesne Incline. Actually, that is probably his second favorite. He really liked staying at the hotel next to the McDonald's drive-thru window in Ohio. However, I don't have any pictures of that. In any case, Bradley was having trouble remembering the term "incline", so he started calling it the heli-train. That is actually quite a clever phrase he has coined.

A Step Forward

After a week of multiple daily accidents, Bradley finally had a successful visit to the potty on Monday. This earned him a trip to the airport to pick up Grandma & Poppy. Perhaps even bigger news is that Bradley wore underwear overnight for the first time.

Bed for Sale

Even though we converted Ben's crib to a bed, it doesn't get much use. He prefers to sleep on the floor.

The Pilgrimage

Since Bradley likes McDonald's so much we took him to the first McDonald's franchise location. He was shocked when we told him that there was a time that McDonald's did not serve chicken nuggets. The boys liked the old cars out front.

Day Out With Thomas

On Sunday we went to the Illinois Railway Museum to see Thomas. The morning train rides were sold out, so we were on the second to last run of the day. Our train was about 90% empty. It was just a regular old train that is normally at the museum, but they stuck Thomas in front. Bradley's favorite part was the inflatable jumpers. Ben really liked the Lego display. Neither of them liked the train whistles. The museum is pretty interesting and worth a return trip on a non-Thomas day. Ben only had a short nap on the way to the museum, so he wasn't too peppy during the visit. Sitting in the stroller and being carried for hours gave him a chance to rest up and be loud and obnoxious on the way home and at dinner.

Where Did My Baby Go?

Contrary to very explicit orders, Ben continues to grow up. He is now out of the crib. He stayed in his bed all night during the first night. I am sure that won't last.

Start Your Engines

Bradley went to his first motor sports event this weekend - the demolition derby at the Porter County Fair. He was very attentive and didn't ask to leave until it was almost over. The next day, the boys got out their own race cars and went for a spin (with no demolition attempts!).
