Training Buddies

Ben went out for his first solo trip of the year in the bicycle trailer on Thursday. Even though he is over 30 pounds, he didn't really slow me down. It was a much different story on Saturday when I towed both boys (70+ lbs) to the French Market. It was about 3.5 miles ones way, but it nearly killed me. A snack and a rest helped ease the return trip a little bit, but not too much.

Fast

Bradley finished his first one-mile race today. It took over 16 minutes and there was a lot of walking, but that's OK. It was a significant improvement over last year.

New Bike

Brad took out his new bike for a spin on Tuesday. He learned how to ride pretty quickly. He hasn't quite got an understanding of the brakes yet.

Happy Birthday!

Bradley had a good birthday today. He took a big lion cupcake cake to school. (It was pajama day, too.) After school, we had a picnic, presents, and more cupcakes. Bradley said they forgot to sing Happy Birthday at school! That's OK. At least 3 callers sang to him after dinner.

It's Not Going to Get Any Easier

Last week was interesting one. Early in the week he asked how does a mommy get a baby in the tummy. Yikes! Then, on Saturday he wanted to exercise his second amendment rights - get a gun and shoot some bad guys. Ugh! I get nervous enough when the kids pick up sticks in hockey class.

43 To Go

We haven't had any baby's first posts in a while, but we have one now. Ben made his first trip to Kentucky. It wasn't as memorable as Brad's first visit, but we did get to cross the river via a cool bridge.

Teeny Spring Break

The boys, Daddy, and Poppy went on Spring Break last weekend. It involved all the classic elements: sun, sand, and water. Unfortunately they were not at the same time. Saturday started off with a party in the hot tub. Then we drove down to Purdue for the Spring football game, which was sunny and warm. We hit the trifecta when we played in the sand area of the Cincinnati Children's Museum.

Loose Cannon

Ben always tries to be like his big brother. While getting dressed for bed one night, Ben decided to try using the potty. Ben was quite frightened once nature took its course and stood up to figure out what was going on. In his mind, it was the potty that was causing this strange phenomena of water coming out of his body. The obvious solution to this problem is to run away from the potty, but that didn't stop the pee. Clean-up on aisle #1!

Just so there was no confusion, Ben decided to point out to everyone where this strange phenomena started on his body.
